UNC Basketball: Graduate transfer to visit Tar Heels
By Zack Pearson
The UNC Basketball program will get a visit a big graduate transfer target at the end of April as Justin Pierce is down to his final three teams
Roy Williams is still hoping to add to his 2019-20 basketball roster as the North Carolina Tar Heels are going to have to replace production from five key players. The Tar Heels only have three-star guard Jeremiah Francis and five-star center Armando Bacot signed but they are also in the running for Cole Anthony and Precious Achiuwa.
As UNC awaits those decisions which could come anytime now, Williams has been doing his homework on some potential graduate transfers.
The Tar Heels have met with a few different graduate transfers so far, landing in the Top 5 for Christian Keeling on Sunday and now a day later, they are getting a visit from different target.
William & Mary forward Justin Pierce has officially trimmed his list down to three schools and will take an official to North Carolina on the weekend of April 28th. 247 Sports recruiting analyst Evan Daniels reported the news on Monday night, also stating that the forward is down to three schools.
The 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward is one of the best graduate transfers on the market, averaging 14.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists last season. He wasn’t rated as a recruit coming out of Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn, Illinois but has really improved his game in each of his three seasons with the Tribe.
Piece has already taken a visit with Notre Dame and has one this weekend to Michigan. The Tar Heels join the two teams in his final three. Following his final visit to UNC, Pierce will make a decision on what program he will join.
Daniels reported that Pierce is hoping to make the decision before he graduates from William & Mary on May 11.
