UNC Basketball graduate transfer target Christian Keeling revealed his top 5 schools on Twitter Sunday night

It’s no secret Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels would like to add to their 2019 recruiting class. With a few big decisions coming up from Cole Anthony, Precious Achiuwa and Matthew Hurt, the Tar Heels hope to land at least one of those prospects.

But they also could do so in the form of a graduate transfer.

Williams has reached out to a few potential transfers already this offseason, hoping to add another scorer to a team that will have to replace production from four starters and their sixth man. That’s not an easy task but adding to the roster would certainly help.

On Sunday night, UNC received some good news regarding one of those potential transfers.

Charleston Southern’s Christian Keeling released his top 5 schools that he is down to in his transfer process. On that list are the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Joining the Tar Heels are fellow ACC schools N.C. State, Clemson and Georgia Tech as well as Purdue out of the Big Ten. Both UNC and Purdue were the only two schools that made the NCAA Tournament on Keeling’s list, with the Tar Heels bowing out in the Sweet 16 an Boilermakers losing to Virginia in the Elite 8.

The Augusta, Georgia native averaged 18.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for Charleston Southern last season.

He’s a player that would start right away for the Tar Heels and be a good scoring option on the wing. The guard has seen an increase in points per game in each year of his college career, getting better and better as it goes on.

There’s no timetable for when Keeling will make a decision but UNC making that Top 5 list is a great start.
