UNC Basketball head coach Roy Williams took a visit to IMG Academy in Florida, where a few recruiting targets are enrolled

Last week we wrote on University of North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Roy Williams planning several in-home visits when the open evaluation period opened up on Sunday. Williams has been all over this week visiting several recruits on his recruiting board.

Earlier in the week, Williams visited with both Matthew Hurt and Cole Anthony to kick off the week of in-homes. On Wednesday, he visited with Indiana product Keion Brooks who is expected to take his official visit to UNC in November.

But after the visit with Brooks, Williams headed to Florida to meet with four prospects all at IMG Academy.

According to Inside Carolina’s Ross Martin, Williams made the trip down to Florida and met with verbal commit Armando Bacot on Wednesday. Bacot gave his verbal to the Tar Heels back in August, becoming the second recruit to do so, joining point guard Jeremiah Francis. While Williams was there, he also met with Josh Green, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Jaden Springer.

Both Green and Robinson-Earl are UNC targets in the 2019 recruiting class while Springer is a shooting guard in the 2020 class.

The visits come just a day after Green announced his official visit date to UNC which is set for the weekend of September 21, the same weekend Robinson-Earl is set to visit.

With Bacot and Francis already signed, Williams is hoping to add to his already impressive 2019 class. The head coach is aiming to add at least two more prospects, one at guard and the other in the post with both Robinson-Earl and Green fitting that mold.

Having Bacot enrolled at IMG Academy with them can’t hurt the Tar Heels chances as he’s able to offer up some knowledge and help recruit.

Springer is a North Carolina native and a top 25 player in the 2020 class. Williams has watched him in the open evaluation periods this year and has shown significant interest. The Tar Heels currently have Day’Ron Sharpe already signed in their 2020 class.
