Class of 2019 UNC Basketball point guard target Tre Mann provides an update to his recruitment by scheduling a visit to Kansas as he’s down to four teams

Roy Williams is hoping that the 2019 recruiting class goes down as one of his best at the University of North Carolina, and he’s off to a good start.

Point guard Jeremiah Francis was the first player to commit to the Tar Heels back in August of 2017 and almost exactly a year later, five-star center Armando Bacot offered his verbal. Bacot’s verbal was big for Williams as it gave him his first five-star front court recruit since Tony Bradley Jr.

But Williams isn’t done.

The head coach is still targeting several big men and win player as well as point guards to finish off his class. One of those players is point guard Tre Mann.

It was just a few weeks ago when we told you that Mann had set his official visit date for Chapel Hill and one recruiting analyst even thinks the Tar Heels are the favorites.

Mann was previously down to a final three of Kansas, Tennessee and Florida but decided to re-open his recruitment when schools like UNC and Indiana came calling. The point guard has already taken official visits to Tennessee and Florida but will now use two more on the Tar Heels and Jayhawks.

With Mann’s visit to UNC set for September 14th, he just provided an update to his recruitment by scheduling a visit to Kansas for September 21st. In addition to that, Mann is set to host coaches from Tennessee (Sept. 9) and Kansas (Sept. 10) when the first allowable in-home visit period begins.

While four teams are involved, many think UNC is the team to beat. The Tar Heels currently lead his Crystal Ball predictor, earning 44 percent of the predictions. Ever since Williams made it a point to watch Mann and then offer him, it’s trended UNC’s way.

We expect Williams and other UNC coaches to visit Mann during the in-home period.

There’s no timetable for his commitment as of now but he could make his decision before the November early signing period once his official visits are done.
