Roy Williams spent his Thursday watching one of the best players in the 2019 class at the Nike Peach Jam

Class of 2019 guard Cole Anthony is taking the basketball world by storm.

After his impressive play in the Spring AAU circuit, Anthony has shot up the recruiting rankings and is now a consensus Top 5 recruit in the 2019 class. He’s even landed on the cover of SLAM Magazine as the next big thing from New York City.

With the Nike Peach Jam taking place this week, Anthony is one of the players that coaches, fans and recruiting analysts will have their eye on over the week.

The tournament is already two days old and right away, Roy Williams got the chance to watch Anthony showcase his skills at the Peach Jam. According to Adam Zagoria of Zag’s Blog, Williams was one of the coaches watching Anthony play for the PSA Cardinals on Thursday afternoon.

It’s the second time in as many days that Williams has watched one of Anthony’s games at the Peach Jam. Williams has kept the trend going of watching Anthony and is showing serious interest after watching the guard in three games during the April circuit.

While Anthony hasn’t revealed that UNC has offered him, the chances are that he has received one already. If he hasn’t, it’s very likely that he will get one following the Peach Jam.

Anthony has drawn seven offers to date including Duke, Kansas, Oregon and Louisville among other teams. In a recent interview he wouldn’t say who the favorites are, despite Duke being the trendy pick on 247 Sports.

For now UNC appears to have the full-court press on this rising star in the 2019 class and the hope is to land Anthony, a big man and a wing for their upcoming class that already has Jeremiah Francis signed.
