UNC Basketball: 2019 Tar Heels target transferring schools
By Zack Pearson
A big target in the 2019 recruiting class for the UNC Basketball program is transferring high schools beginning this year
With just one recruit verbally committed in the 2019 class, the North Carolina Tar Heels still have their eyes on a number of targets they are hoping commit to play in Chapel Hill. There’s a long way to go until the first signing period in November and head coach Roy Williams has had his eye on a number of targets in the class.
One of those targets happens to be center Armando Bacot.
The Virginia native is one of the top players in the class, ranked No. 21 by 247 Sports and is listed as a five-star recruit. He’s become one of UNC’s top targets in the class and would be a big get for Williams and his staff.

At 6-foot-10, Bacot averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds in his junior year as he began to shoot up the rankings.
He was once considered a strong Duke lean but after visiting Chapel Hill back in February for a Tar Heels game against the Blue Devils, things started to change. UNC became the trending team with
Williams is looking to add at least one post player to the class after losing Isaiah Hicks, Kennedy Meeks, and Tony Bradley Jr. last year. The Tar Heels do return Sterling Manley, Garrison Brooks and Brandon Huffman in 2018-19 and all three are expected to be four-year players.
