UNC Baseball: Chapel Hill Super Regional schedule
By Zack Pearson
The full schedule for the Chapel Hill Super Regional between the UNC Baseball program and Stetson Baseball program has been released
For the first time since 2013, Chapel Hill will host a Super Regional at Boshamer stadium this weekend.
And like that 2013 season, UNC is hoping to return to the College World Series.
The Tar Heels earned the No. 6 overall seed in the 2018 NCAA Baseball Tournament and advanced out of the Chapel Hill Regional by beat North Carolina A&T and then Houston twice on consecutive days to advance. But now the competition will get a little tougher and a weekend series will determine the Tar Heels fate.
Matching up with the Tar Heels in the Chapel Hill Super Regional is a tough Stetson team that has flown under the radar all season long.
The Hatters enter the Super Regional with a 47-11 record after beating Hartford on Friday and then Oklahoma State on both Saturday and Sunday. They are riding an 18-game win streak including winning the ASUN championship and haven’t lost since April.
This will be the first Super Regional appearance for the Hatters in program history.
On Tuesday, the official Super Regional schedule has been released with the three-game series kicking off on Friday morning. Here is the schedule for the best-of-three series between the Tar Heels and Hatters:
Friday, June 8: 11 a.m. (ESPN2)
Game 1: #6 North Carolina (41-18) vs. #11 Stetson (48-11)
Saturday, June 9: Noon (ESPN2)
Game 2: #6 North Carolina (41-18) vs. #11 Stetson (48-11)
Sunday, June 10: Noon (ESPN2) *if necessary
Game 3: #6 North Carolina (41-18) vs. #11 Stetson (48-11)
All three games of the series will be broadcasted at Noon and all have early start times. UNC opened up the Chapel Hill Regional on Friday with a 2 p.m. game against North Carolina A&T but an 11 a.m. start is a little unusual for the team.
As for tickets, the University has announced that all-session tickets will go on sale Wednesday at noon for $30. Single game tickets for the Super Regional will go on sale Thursday at noon and will be $15 per game.
Fans can purchase tickets when available here.
