UNC commit Coby White drops 40-plus points at the Josh Level Classic on Saturday in Greensboro

Coby White is set to enroll at the University of North Carolina in the coming weeks as he’s one of the top recruits in the country. White has elevated his game during his senior season and has earned a five-star ranking as a Top 25 player.

Before he takes the court in the Dean Dome for the Tar Heels, White is still putting on a show for fans in games.

The Josh Level classic was created in 2014 by Kanayo Obi-Rapu Jr. to honor his friend Josh Level, who died in 2013 from myocarditis while playing basketball. Since then, some of the top recruits in the state of North Carolina have played in the game.

This year’s game featured UNC commit Coby White as well as UNC targets Wendell Moore and Jalen Lecque. All three recruits are five-star players in the state of North Carolina with White being part of the 2018 class and Moore, Lecque representing the 2019 class.

The annual game was held Saturday night in Greensboro, North Carolina and White put on a show for the fans in attendance.

White scored 41 points to help lead Team B Daht past Team Drankins 128-121. The former Greenfield standout put the finishing touches on his High School career, doing so in front of future UNC teammates Cam Johnson, Sterling Manley and Brandon Huffman.

He even went at it with Guilford point guard Kobe Langley as the two went at it for the majority of the game:

White is coming off an impressive showing during the McDonald’s All-American Games in Chicago when he impressed scouts during the practice sessions.

He was once a four-star recruit that was a fringe Top 100 player but he has now turned into a very important player for Roy Williams and the Tar Heels. White, along with Nassir Little and Rechon Black, are hoping to get UNC back to the Final Four.
