Class of 2019 recruit Wendell Moore provides an update on when his decision will likely come

The most recent recruiting news for the North Carolina Tar Heels was positive as they picked up a commitment from 2018 wing Nassir Little.

UNC is still in the running for Simi Shittu as the program hopes to add another big player in their 2018 class.

But now they might have some big news coming for the 2019 class.

Recruit Wendell Moore revealed some big news during the recent USA Basketball Junior Minicamp in Colorado Springs over the weekend. Moore is UNC’s top target in the 2019 class and would be a big in-state get for Roy Williams.

Scout’s Sean Moran caught up with Moore over the weekend to discuss his recruitment and a possible timetable for an announcement.

Moore told Moran that his recruitment is close to coming to an end and his decision will likely come sometime at the end of November or early December.

Along with UNC, Moore is also considering Florida State, Maryland, Duke, NC State and Wake Forest. But the Tar Heels appear to be the favorites for the Concord, North Carolina product.

Moore went on to say how big of a priority UNC has made him since his freshman year of high school. Williams has kept in contact with Moore, making him his biggest priority in this upcoming 2019 class.

As for the academic scandal that has a cloud looming over the program? Well, Moore revealed that he’s paid close attention to it.

Here’s what he told Moran:

"“I pay real close attention,” said Moore. “Their main thing (they’ve told me) is to not worry about it and they said they should come out good and I believe in them so we’ll just have to see how things come out.”"

That has to be good news for the Tar Heels as they hope that this scandal can finally come to a close sooner than later.

Moore took a visit to UNC to watch the Tar Heels football team against Louisville with the basketball team honored at halftime.
