Are the Cleveland Browns leaning towards Mitch Trubisky with the number one overall pick?

The 2017 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and the rumor mill is starting to heat up as we are just a few weeks away.

With the Cleveland Browns holding the No. 1 and No. 12 overall picks, they will have the chance to address their quarterback position right away. But will they do it?

The Browns have been linked to numerous players with the No. 1 overall pick but the most common name seems to be Texas A&M edge rusher Myles Garrett. The other is former UNC quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

The Ohio native has been linked to the Browns as early as January with reports surfacing that the team could take him No. 1 overall.

Now just weeks away from the draft, NFL insider Adam Schefter dropped a bombshell Tuesday night saying the Browns are split between taking Garrett and Trubisky.

Here’s what Schefter tweeted:

The Browns have a BIG need at quarterback, and have had one for years, but is Trubisky or any of these quarterbacks worth the No. 1 overall pick? That’s tough to say.

They could go for Garrett who has been mocked as the best player in this draft and could be a franchise-type player on defense.

What makes this interesting is that there are 4-5 teams before the Browns pick again at No. 12 that have a need at quarterback. Two of those teams are the San Francisco 49ers (No. 2) and Chicago Bears (No. 3).

Trubisky likely won’t be there when the Browns pick again, so they could look to other quarterbacks if they do indeed take Garrett.

The quarterback grew up a Browns fan and still roots for them to this day.

Next: Browns going all in for Mitch Trubisky?

Whatever the Browns do come April 27th, I’m sure there will be plenty more discussion involving Garrett, Trubisky and others.
