Michael Jordan.

The most internationally recognizable name in the history of sports. Generations of children born after his playing career ended continue to praise his greatness. There isn’t a place on earth that his legend doesn’t reach.

It all began in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Jordan has long since credited men like Dean Smith and Roy Williams for helping him reach his full potential. He’s said that Smith helped shape him into the player and man that he became.

Jordan was drafted third overall in the 1984 NBA draft and went on to have one of the most illustrious professional sports careers in history, being coined by most as the greatest basketball player to ever live. Some say he’s the greatest athlete to ever live.

Few things can be said of Jordan that hasn’t already been said. It’s safe to say, that of the 108 players drafted to the NBA from the University of North Carolina, Jordan sits alone at the top.
