Shooting Guard: Justin Jackson
Backup: Malik Newman

I think Jackson will take significant strides throughout the 2014-15 season offensively, learning how he fits into Carolina’s offensive while also adding shooting and defense off the bench. By his sophomore season, I think he will be ready to start and would be the go-to offensive option on the wing in this starting lineup.

  • His backup here would be Malik Newman, the first surprise of the article. His presence on the roster is not recruiting knowledge, rather just a guess for who UNC could sign in the Class of 2015. Newman would fit nicely into this team coming off the bench as a scorer. Ranked third in the ESPN 100, he has his college list trimmed down to six schools: Alabama, Arizona, Kentucky, Mississippi State, UNC and UCLA. So before Tar Heel fans can see Malik in a Tar Heel blue uniform, Coach Roy has his work cut out for him on the recruiting trail.
