Sharp or not, UNC rolls over ETSU
North Carolina wasn’t all that sharp during prolonged stretches of its 78-55 victory against East Tennessee State on Saturday night. Then again, the Tar Heels didn’t need to be. Not against the Buccaneers, who entered the Smith Center with just seven scholarship players, and without their starting point guard. (Charlotte Observer)

Rapid Reaction: UNC 78, ETSU 55
When East Tennessee State’s Lester Wilson made a 3-point shot Saturday night with 4:20 left in the first half, there was a smattering of applause at the Smith Center. Most of the clappers were wearing Carolina blue. It was that sort of game. The Rams set a new Smith Center record for futility by scoring only 12 points in the first half during their 78-55 shellacking by No. 20 North Carolina. (ESPN.com)

Jazz’s Marvin Williams glad his rest is over
Even though he could tell most of the fog had lifted, Jazz forward Marvin Williams knew there were still a few patches of cloudiness around his brain. “I still kind of feel a little different,” he said earlier this week, prior to returning from the Nov. 28 concussion he suffered during the second half of a 96-84 win at New Orleans. Q&A with J.R. Reid
“Early in the season Coach Smith was really on me and wanted me to pick up my defense and the defensive scheme. You know at Carolina if you don’t play defense, you don’t play. Coach Smith pushed me because coming out of High School everyone was watching me to see what was going to happen. Coach Smith gave me the chance to start my Freshman year, which was an honor.” (Keeping It Heel)

UNC report to be presented to trustees on Dec. 20
The UNC Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting on Dec. 20th to receive the report from an independent academic review commissioned by Chancellor Holden Thorp. The review was conducted by former N.C. Gov. James Martin and is among the University’s extensive efforts to address academic irregularities discovered in 2011 during the joint NCAA and University investigation of the football program. Q&A with QB Mitch Trubisky
Was there any pressure put on you to remain in (your home) state and become a Buckeye? Mitch Trubisky: “Well, there kind of was. They had a quarterback commit before I was ready to commit so after they had their quarterback, I started to look elsewhere. I found North Carolina and I really liked it, I love the system and the coaches and I was ready to pull the trigger at that time so I decided on North Carolina. There has been some pressure back and forth but I am very pleased with my decision.” (Keeping It Heel)
