The UNC football program has turned its season around, coming off its third win in a row. The Tar Heels are bowl-eligible for their sixth straight season, sitting at 6-4.

The Tar Heels’ latest injury update was reported by Mack Brown during his weekly press conference. Michael Koh, sports writer for WCHL & Chapelboro, provided the details on social media.

Freshman linebacker Caleb LaVallee was out for the Wake Forest game with a lower-body injury. LaVallee has played in four games this season and recorded five total tackles. As reported, his status will be watched closely heading into the Boston College game on Saturday.

Senior running back Darwin Barlow has also been battling some injuries this season. The USC transfer has only played in three games this season, suffering multiple lower-body injuries. He was sidelined for the Wake Forest game and is not currently practicing.

While neither LaVallee nor Barlow have made a big impact this season, they’re still respectable depth pieces. And the Tar Heels need all the help they can get in their efforts to make a bowl game. North Carolina will be looking to get LaVallee and Barlow back in pads as soon as possible. Health will determine how the Tar Heels close out this season.
