UNC women's soccer star and 2024 national champion Kate Faasse was just named this year's Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy winner, college soccer's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the cherry on top of a gigantic tiered cake that Faasse has baked this season. She was also All-ACC First Team, an All-American, TopDrawerSoccer Best XI First Team, as well as TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Year.

Faasse didn't pile up these accolades just for being on a championship team. She put up monster numbers this season, her first as a starter (she tripled her minutes played from her sophomore season). Faasse started all 27 games this year, scoring 24 goals and tallying nine assists.

She's capable of blasting galazos from outside the box...

... or getting up over central defenders to win headers in the six-yard box.

Kate Faasse just completed her junior season, so she could return to Chapel Hill to lead North Carolina in their bid to repeat as national champions. But there is every possibility that she could turn pro, as her skills will be in high demand at the club level.

If this is her final year in Carolina blue, there's no doubt that her legacy is secure with other legends of the game. Faasse is forever a national champion, and now she's recognized as the best women's soccer player in the country.
