Stop us if you've heard this before, but Caleb Wilson has been nothing short of sensational to start his UNC career. Yup, Wilson has been so much fun to watch for the North Carolina Tar Heels this season and he's showing no signs of slowing down.

Caleb Wilson has special message for UNC fans ahead of Duke rivalry game

While Cameron Boozer and Duke are getting a ton of national attention, no one has forgotten about Wilson. Matter of fact, Wilson, Boozer and fellow 5-star freshman Darryn Peterson all have one thing in common: they're all making some NCAA history thus far this campaign for their respective teams:

Caleb Wilson continues to make history for the UNC basketball program

Wilson, as noted above, is averaging 20 points per game, while also adding 9.8 rebounds per contest. Last week in the win over Georgia Tech, which was an Atlanta homecoming for him, Wilson finished with a team-high 22 points.

Thanks to that showing, he officially passed program legend and former national championship winner Tyler Hansbrough for the most 20+ point performances in a season by a freshman. Wilson is thankful for all the love he's getting and you already know he takes a ton of honor in being mentioned with so many UNC greats.

With plenty of season left to go, look for Wilson to keep setting new records for UNC. At the same time, he's also going to be focused on posting some big-time wins for the Tar Heels too, with a monster rivalry game coming up this weekend at the Smith Center.

Yup, we're talking about the huge home showdown with the Duke Blue Devils, with UNC and Wilson having an upset on their minds. That's not going to be easy, as Boozer and Co. have been sensational on the year - Duke is 21-1 and ranked the No. 4 team in the country.

There's going to be a tall mountain to climb in this one, but Wilson, Seth Trimble and others want to make sure the fans leave the stadium with a smile on their face. For that to happen, another big showing needs to be on the way from Wilson, who will once again look to remind everyone he's one of the best players in the country. Duke won't be ready.
