This is it. After taking down West Virginia and moving on to the College World Series semifinals, UNC baseball will take the field on Wednesday, needing one win to reach the finals for the first time in program history. The only team standing in the way of the Tar Heels getting that done? That'd be West Virginia.

UNC fans won't be thrilled with the rough start time for the CWS semifinal

In the loser's bracket, the Mountaineers were able to take down Troy to keep their season alive. With that, however, another dance is on the way with the Tar Heels, as Carolina is going to do everything possible to prevent the Mountaineers from recording some revenge. As soon as things went final in the win against Troy for West Virginia, the odds came out for Wednesday's matchup. As you might have been able to guess, North Carolina has opened as the favorite, which fans wanted to see. Per the DraftKings sportsbook, the Heels hold -166 odds to win and move on. Keep in mind that if West Virginia upsets UNC, the two teams will play once again. However, with a win, UNC advances.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

UNC baseball and West Virginia are set to battle again in the CWS semifinals

Let's run this thing back. In the last matchup between the two sides, things were tied 2-2 late, but it was North Carolina that came up with the needed magic late. Plenty of people are still celebrating Gavin Gallaher coming up huge with his two-run triple, which gave North Carolina the lead for good. The Tar Heels added one more run to close things out at 5-2.

As soon as Gavin made contact with that delivery, the ball just kept carrying and carrying. Thankfully, the ball hit the ground, and the stands were electric as the two base runners made their way home. Carolina has been able to sit back and relax a little bit since then, but you've got to go ahead and assume the entire West Virginia clubhouse is going to be motivated to take UNC down this time around,

That's, of course, not going to be easy, as every UNC player knows what's going to be at stake in this one. With that said, Scott Forbes has wasted no time in announcing that Folger Boaz will be getting the start in this one. From our chair, it seems a bit questionable, as the hope was that Jason DeCaro would get the nod, as he's had plenty of rest.

Despite that, there's a method to Forbes' madness, and the hope is he knows exactly what he's doing here. There's going to be a ton of pressure on Boaz to deliver for this team, with the fanbase confident he'll be able to answer the call for this group. And if he does, it will lead to the magical moment we've all been waiting for.

Normally, when you think of North Carolina's success in the postseason, you think of the thrilling wins on the hardwood. However, UNC baseball is closer than ever to reaching the World Series Final, with Game 1 of that series all set for Saturday in Omaha. The Tar Heels already know what it takes to humble the Mountaineers, and they'll be ready for a repeat performance once things get going again on Wednesday.
