UNC football program stomps all over Florida State for 35-11 road win
The UNC football program followed their best performance of the season at Virginia with another ACC road win at hapless Florida State. The Seminoles have been battered and abused this season, and they found no respite from proud alum and current UNC head coach Mack Brown.
Did North Carolina's defense make the difference, or was Florida State's historically poor offense the catalyst for their lack of output? It's hard to say. The Seminoles were poor, and the Tar Heels really got after the quarterback for the second straight week. Six Tar Heels combined for seven sacks on Florida State's two hapless quarterbacks, and the Seminoles were held to 87 yards rushing (sack adjusted).
Jacolby Criswell had an efficient game under center, completing 13-17 pass attempts for 211 yards and a touchdown. But the main driver of UNC's offense was their iron horse, Omarion Hampton. He had a banner day, rushing for 172 yards and four touchdowns. He added three catches for 93 yards and another touchdown.
Hampton had a lot of touches, but you couldn't argue with the results. He eventually sat midway through the fourth quarter and will now have an extra week to recover and prepare for visiting Wake Forest on November 16th.
