The No. 1-seeded UNC Field Hockey team claimed the 2024 ACC title in a 4-1 win over No. 3-seeded Boston College Friday afternoon. Head Coach Erin Matson, who won the ACC title four times as a player with the Tar Heels, has now won the ACC title in each of her first two seasons as head coach of the program.

All four goals were scored by different players in the Tar Heels dominant ACC championship victory. Goal scorers included sophomores Sanne Hak and Charly Bruder, along with juniors Sietske Bruning and Ryleigh Heck.

North Carolina senior goalkeeper Abigail Taylor had a few crucial saves, including a diving save in the second quarter to prevent the Eagles from tying the game at 1-1.

The  Tar Heels secured an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament with their Friday afternoon win and will find out their first round opponent during the selection show, Sunday at 10 p.m. The Tar Heels look to claim their third consecutive NCAA championship, and Matson hopes to earn her second as head coach of the program.
