With all the hype surrounding Michael Malone and the brilliant work that he's doing, don't lose sight of the fact that Bill Belichick and North Carolina are ready to make a splash over on the gridiron as well. Belichick just hosted a pretty big official visit weekend and plenty of signs are pointing to him landing a new commit soon.
UNC loses a veteran quarterback in a move no one saw coming
In this case, we're talking about offensive lineman Nori White, who made his way to Chapel Hill and he absolutely loved his time on campus. So much in fact, he made it more than clear to the team over at Inside Carolina that the Heels are his new No.1 school. Because of that, it's safe to put him on commit watch moving forward.

Nori White has North Carolina as his top school after a great official visit
This would quite literally be a massive get for Belichick if he can pull this off, as White is a 6-5, 320-pound force in the trenches. He's a bit of a hidden gem in terms of his recruitment, as he holds six offers to his name: North Carolina, Syracuse, East Carolina, Troy, Charlotte, East Carolina and James Madison.
The official visit with the Tar Heels was his first, which is why it's no surprise that North Carolina has made a big leap on his list. While there's no set timeline for when he's going to shut things down and make his final decision, we think it's safe to go ahead and assume that UNC is in a pretty good spot to land his services down the road.
With White being a standout for Hough High in Cornelius, N.C. (two hours outside of Chapel Hill), it makes him a bit more of a priority for UNC's offensive line recruiting, as Belichick is always going to want to keep top talent close to home. White of course isn't the only 2027 target who the Tar Heels are working to land. For the first big visit weekend, there were 10 total prospects in town.
More eye-opening news could be coming in soon too, but for now, there's excitement about White potentially giving the staff his commitment. According to the 247Sports Composite, the in-state playmaker is ranked three stars and is the No. 97 interior offensive lineman in the country - he's also the No. 44 prospect for his class out of North Carolina.
Thus far for the '27 haul, Belichick has picked up verbal pledges from safety Charles Roberts, cornerback Trey Johnson, linebacker Tasheem Butler, running back Isaiah Stephens, athlete Skylar Robinson and lineman Lauifi Tosi. Could White be ready to join the party in the near future? That's something for the UNC faithful to keep a close eye on.
