Hubert Davis' fourth season as the head coach of the UNC men's basketball program has been up and down (currently up considering his team's four-game winning streak). But one of the bright spots of this campaign happened off the court.
Class of 2025 five-star Caleb Wilson committed to play for Davis — his announcement being made on Inside the NBA alongside former Tar Heel, Kenny Smith.
Draft Express' Jonathan Givony has Caleb Wilson being selected to the San Antonio Spurs with the eighth overall pick.

Wilson is behind Chris Cenac, Karim Lopez, Jayden Quaintance, Nate Ament, Cam Boozer, AJ Dybansta, and Darryn Peterson in the mock draft. However, depending on Wilson's performance throughout next season in Chapel HIll, he could projected to go even higher than expected.
The Atlanta, Georgia native stands at 6-foot-9 and 205 pounds, per 247Sports. He is No. 9 nationally, No. 4 at his position, and No. 1 in the state.
247Sports' Adam Finkelstein gave a scouting report on Wilson saying the following:
"Wilson is an athletic and wiry four-man with significant two-way tools. He has continued to grow and now has positional size at 6-foot-9 along with a 7-foot wingspan, 9-foot standing reach, and a rangy, elastic body type. He's gradually filing out a naturally leaner frame, but is extremely mobile for his size and able to cover the court.
Wilson's combination of size, effortless mobility, and flexibility gives him extreme potential versatility on the defensive end of the floor. He's already capable of guarding multiple positions, switching onto guards, and being a major rim protector (2.5 blocks per game in the EYBL). His court coverage and total defensive metrics are off the charts as he can fly around the floor covering up mistakes, getting his hands on a ton of balls, and making plays (3.8 stocks per game)."
Another highly touted recruit will throw on the decorated North Carolina uniform and step on the Roy Williams court.
Can Wilson lead Carolina to success in what's probably going to be his only collegiate season? Maybe, but it will take an entire team to uplift Carolina basketball.
