Stokely, like the Diamond Heels writ large, was on fire last week. The UNC baseball program played six games in seven days thanks to snow delays, and graduate student Stokely took advantage of the bevy of at-bats to show his stuff. He batted 11/21 (.524 avg), with four home runs, 11 RBIs, and 10 runs scored. He also caught tons of throws to first base for countless outs over that stretch.
This prolific week at the plate has elevated Stokely to fourth in the ACC in batting average for the season at .444 (20/45), and after not reaching base in the season opener against Texas Tech, he is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak.
There's no rest for the weary, as Stokely and the UNC baseball program will host Coastal Carolina tomorrow at 4 PM. North Carolina's mid-week game against the College of Charleston, one that was already re-scheduled to this Wednesday, will once again be postponed until a later date due to weather.
