Boshamer Stadium saw two worlds collide with baseball head coach Scott Forbes meets first-year college coach Bill Belichick prior to Game 2 of UNC's Super Regional matchup against Arizona.
The two coaches met and exchanged a handshake, as Forbes greets the newest member of the Carolina coaching tree.
While Forbes is working towards grabbing the program's first national championship in baseball, Belichick is trying to flip the football team upside down from the coaching staff to the roster, in hopes of making it one of the best teams in the country this fall.
For fans, this is a cool sight to see: two standout coaches in their respective sports interacting with each other. In the image, Belichick is sporting a short-sleeve windbreaker. Short-sleeves are a part of his look along the sidelines that has stuck with him since his NFL days, where he one eight Super Bowls during his tenure.
As UNC baseball fights for a spot in Omaha, it'll know that the support of its football head coach is there to applaud, inning after inning, pitch after pitch — similar to former head coach Roy Williams, who can know be found behind Carolina’s dugout with his wife, Wanda.
These are the kind of moments that make Tar Heel fans love their athletics even more.
