RJ Davis is the leader and number one option for this UNC basketball squad. Davis now adds more preseason honors and is announced The Sporting News 2024-2025 Preseason All-America First Team. RJ Davis is joined by Duke forward Cooper Flagg, Marquette guard Kam Jones, UConn forward Alex Karaban, and Alabama guard Mark Sears.

Last year, Davis averaged 21.2 points, 3.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds. He became one of the top players in the entire country. He also had a 42.8% Field goal percentage and a career-high 39.8% three-point percentage. Davis is now entering his fifth season for the Tar Heels and looking to build off his impressive season.

Davis has started this 2024-2025 season averaging 20 points, 5.5 assists, and four rebounds. As expected, Davis leads the team in points per game and minutes. He will be the key scorer and leader to this top 10 ranked Tar Heel squad. Davis is also chasing records in Chapel Hill, including all-time points and three-point shots made.

If RJ Davis can continue to grow off of his tremendous 2023-2024 season, he could be bringing in more awards in March as well. Davis proved last year he can be one of the best players in college basketball and he will look to do so yet again this season. In his final year with the Tar Heels, RJ Davis can become one of the North Carolina greats while bringing in even more honors and awards in 2024-2025.
