The UNC football program trods along the broken path of the 2024 season, destined for disappointment but hopeful of avoiding catastrophe. Next on the schedule is Georgia Tech, a bogey team for Mack Brown and UNC. The Tar Heels were favored in their last three games against the Yellow Jackets but were bested by the underdog in all three instances.

Last season, the No. 17-ranked Tar Heels walked into Bobby Dodd Stadium on the heels of their first loss of the season to Virginia to take on a 4-4 Georgia Tech team. North Carolina gave up 46 American football points and 635 yards of offense, including a spirit-destroying 348 on the ground. The main culprit Dontae Smith is gone, but Haynes King is back, and he's progressed as a passer:

King is completing 74% of his passes at 8.5 yards per completion. His touchdown pass total (8) isn't super high, but he only has one interception. If North Carolina wants to beat Georgia Tech, they're going to have to play clean football, and what do the Tar Heels have trouble doing?

Say it with me. Play. Clean. Football.

If things are going to turn around this season, North Carolina will need to play like a completely different team from what we've seen the last three weeks--consistent, clean, and disciplined. Can Mack Brown get his team to buy in? If he can't, expect more pain, shame, and humiliation from a dangerous Georgia Tech team.
