UNC Women's Basketball Commits Earn McDonald's All-American Nominee
By Jordan Falls
Courtney Banghart is building something special in Chapel Hill with the UNC Women's Basketball program and the 2024 recruiting class just re-solidifies that. While the class is a smaller one, with just two commits for next season, it is one that is certainly talented.
Blanca Thomas and Jordan Zubich are the two members of the UNC Women's Basketball 2024 recruiting class. Thomas, a six-foot-five forward, is currently a five-star and ranked No. 30 overall by ESPN's HoopGurlz. Zubich, a guard from Minnesota, is a four-star and the No. 68 overall player in the class.
Both players now have accolades to add to their resumes, as both have now been named as a McDonald's All-American Nominee.
Thomas and Zubich are part of a group that includes 728 high school girls and boys basketball players who have been nominated for the 2024 McDonald's All-American Game. The nominee class will be narrowed down to 48 high school players, 24 boys and 24 girls, to play in the McDonald's All-American Game.
The final list will be revealed in less than two weeks on Tuesday, January 23rd on the NBA Today TV Show on ESPN. The 2024 McDonald's All-American game will take play on Tuesday, April 2nd in Houston, Texas. The girls game will begin at 6:30 PM ET on ESPN2 with the boys game following at 9:00 PM ET and broadcast on ESPN.
