Shortly before signing with the UNC Football program's Class of 2024, wide receiver Jordan Shipp was invited to the 2024 All-American Bowl, an all-star game featuring some of the nation's top high school players. During practice ahead of Saturday's game, Shipp proved why he belonged in such an elite company.

On3 named Shipp the second-best performer during the second day of on-field practice.

According to On3, Shipp scored multiple touchdowns during joint practice. He caught a long touchdown pass during the 7-on-7 session, and burned USC recruit Marcelles Williams for a touchdown during the 11-on-11 session.

While Ohio State signee Jeremiah Smith beat out Shipp for On3's East MVP honors, 247 Sports named Shipp the East's best performer, or "Alpha Dog," on the second day of practice.

According to 247 Sports' Hudson Standish, Shipp was "nearly uncoverable" during both sessions, rolling up a number of highlight reel-worthy plays "at the second and third levels of the defense." Standish believes Shipp has the potential to be "an early-contributing, field-stretching" player for UNC Football in offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey's Air Raid scheme.

Adam Friedman, Adam Gorney, and Greg Smith of Rivals.com were also high on Shipp. Watch them break down Shipp's day here.

Gorney said that Shipp arrived at the Alamodome "in sandals" a day earlier, but "really turned it on" on the second day of practice and became "a touchdown machine." Friedman noticed Shipp showed "great ball skills" even at "half speed," and said UNC Football was "getting a good one" this fall.

A native of Charlotte, Shipp chose the Tar Heels over Michigan, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others. He played his high school football at independent school powerhouse Providence Day, and is already enrolled for the spring 2024 semester at UNC. From the looks of things, he was showing the same form at All-American Bowl practice that he showed when his Providence Day team faced off against Northwestern High of nearby Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Shipp has a very good opportunity to show his stuff on the national stage. To date, the All-American Bowl has featured 18 Heisman Trophy finalists, with Bryce Young, Trevor Lawrence, and Christian McCaffrey among the most recent additions to that list. Over 560 participants have gone on to be selected in the NFL Draft.
