It has been an impressive six months for former UNC Football defensive end Julius Peppers, who continues to add to his impressive list of accolades. The former Tar Heel was inducted into the Carolina Panthers Hall of Honor during the most recent NFL Season. That was followed up with the announcement just a few weeks ago that Peppers is a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

With all of that and more, Peppers has now been announced as an inductee to the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame for the Class of 2024.

He becomes the seventh all-time Tar Heel to be inducted to the NFF College Football Hall of Fame, joining Harris Barton, Dre' Bly, William Fuller, Charlie Justice, Don McCauley and Art Weiner, and coaches Mack Brown, Carl Snavely and Jim Tatum.

During his playing career for the UNC Football program he earned first-team All-ACC honors during the 2000 and 2001 seasons, while also being named a unanimous All-American during the 2001 season. To go along with those honors, he won the Chuck Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award, and Bill Willis Trophy in 2001 as well.

He put up impressive numbers throughout his Tar Heel career, racking up 177 tackles, 30.5 sacks, 53 tackles for loss, five interceptions, and five forced fumbles during his time in Chapel Hill. He went on to have a successful NFL career from 2002 until he retired in 2018. His No. 49 jersey is among the honored jerseys for the UNC Football program.

The 2024 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will be inducted in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 10th, 2024. To learn more about the NFF Hall of Fame, the criteria to be inducted, and much more, please click here.
