UNC Football has the best odds to land this Class of 2026 cornerback
The UNC football program extended an offer to Class of 2026 cornerback/wide receiver Jaziel Hart, who announced his offer on the social media platform “X” on June 2. The six-foot 170-pound junior attended a camp at Chapel Hill on June 2 and received his offer the same day.
Rivals has Hart listed as a three-star football player at North Cross School in Roanoke, VA, where he is also the varsity basketball captain. While Hart is listed as a cornerback on most recruiting websites, he is also an exceptional wide receiver, and added a picture of Dyami Brown in his offer announcement, leaving some speculation as to what position he would play in Chapel Hill.
The North Carolina football program, the first ACC school to offer Hart, is facing stiff competition for the Class of 2026 talent. The University of South Carolina offered Hart on May 21, and he received an offer from Tennessee on May 14.
On3 Sports predicts a 46.1% chance the Tar Heels, with the best odds of any school, could secure a commitment from Hart. West Virginia, who was the first D-1 school to offer Hart on April 9, is a close second with a 40.3% chance of landing him.
Hart is the latest of four cornerbacks in the Class of 2026 to receive offers from Mack Brown and the UNC football program, a position group that is in desperate need of support.
In 2023, the Tar Heels allowed the second most completions by any team in the ACC and finished just 8th in defensive efficiency.
It’s a long road to signing day in 2026; Brown and his coaching staff must keep applying pressure if they hope to land these imperative talents.
