The UNC football program has been busy as of late on the recruiting trail. Their 2024 and 2025 classes are looking strong, and they've started to give out offers for the 2026 class as well. The latest player to receive an invite from the Tar Heels was four-star edge rusher Rodney Dunham.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive lineman recorded 55 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and seven sacks in 10 games last season. The sophomore lineman also had 20 quarterback pressures, three interceptions, three pass breakups, and a blocked field goal. The Charlotte, North Carolina native has offers from Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Duke, among others.

On top of being a phenomenal football player, Dunham has also showcased his skills on the diamond. He's one of North Carolina's top baseball players, as he plays the outfield and pitches. Dunham's fastball broke 90 miles per hour at an event on July 13, 2023, according to Perfect Game. He was named a Rawlings Sports Underclass All-American earlier this month. It is unclear if Dunham will play for the Diamond Heels on top of playing for the football program.

Although just a sophomore, Dunham has seen his stock rise considerably since the end of the season. Rivals ranked him inside the top ten best defensive ends in the class. Expect him to get more offers from big-name programs as he becomes more of a household name across the country.

As mentioned before, the UNC football program has been active in the 2026 class since the new year. They offered wide receiver Jordon Gidron at the end of February, and are expecting a visit from top quarterback and Florida native Brady Hart as well.

It's too early to tell if these guys will play for Mack Brown and the UNC football program in 2026, but their names are ones all fans should keep an eye on as we approach the 2024 season.
