UNC Basketball recruit Nate Ament continues to impress at Adidas 3SSB
Every major program in the country heavily recruits five-star Class of 2025 recruit Nate Ament. The UNC basketball program has been aggressively pursuing the No. 8 player in the Class of 2025 on the ESPN 100, along with other blue bloods like Duke, Kentucky, and UCONN.
This Summer, Ament has been hooping in the Adidas 3SSB Circuit for Team Loaded VA and continues to show why he is one of the most highly sought-after players in the nation.
On Tuesday, the rising senior impressed scouts with a 26-point, 9-rebound, and four-block performance in a 72-66 win over Jalen Green Elite.
Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program offered Ament earlier this May and await an official visit. It was revealed that Ament plans to visit Indiana and Virginia soon, but there is still no word on an upcoming visit to North Carolina or any other blue bloods involved in his recruitment.
National Basketball Director of 247 Sports Eric Bossi highly praises the six-foot-seven forward in his scouting report, saying that Ament reminds him of Michael Porter of the Denver Nuggets.
"Ament is a mobile and skilled forward who has the skill and ball skills to play out on the wing where he has tremendous size. Or, he can be used as a small ball four man who opens up defenses and pulls other bigs away from the basket thanks to his ability to shoot from deep. There is a lot of projectable upside for Ament because of his overall size, athleticism and frame that he can easily grow into down the road. "
The battle to secure a commitment from Ament is intense, with ACC schools like Florida State, Louisville, and Virginia Tech also expressing interest. As Ament's game evolves, the pressure on Davis and the Tar Heels recruiting staff to secure his commitment will only increase.
