On Wednesday, Tar Heel fans learned that five-star class of 2025 prospect Daryn Peterson did not include the UNC basketball program on his top eight list of schools.

But as hopes of Peterson disappeared, good news about another Class of 2025 standout arrives, as four-star point guard Isaiah Denis has named the University of North Carolina to his top-ten list of schools.

Denis was offered by head coach Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program just days ago, on July 22, just in time to make his most recent cut of schools.

Denis’ top ten is filled with Power Five schools, including some notable ACC rivals. The Davidson, North Carolina native revealed that Miami, Pittsburgh, and in-state rival Wake Forest have also made the cut. The list also includes Kansas, Michigan, Tennessee, and Ohio State.

After an impressive junior season at Davidson Day High School, Denis is currently ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina.

The six-foot-five guard has reportedly scheduled visits with Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Miami, Michigan, and Tennessee but has yet to announce a date for a potential visit to Chapel Hill.

While the UNC basketball program was the latest school to offer Denis out of all ten schools listed, Davis and the coaching staff should have a fair shot at landing the in-state product.
