Black, along with veterans Kira Lewis and Jaylen Nowell, will join the Wizards for training camp. They'll compete for regular season roster spots, ideally with the Wizards, but possibly on a two-way contract with their G-League affiliate club, Capital City Go-Go. It's a little less dignified than the Greensboro Swarm, but that's neither here nor there.
Leaky Black finished his five-year UNC basketball career in 2023 and signed a two-way contract with Charlotte, splitting his time between the Hornets and their G-League affiliate. He played 26 games with the Hornets, averaging 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per-game.
The Wizards have an open slot for a two-way contract, and Lewis and Nowell are not eligible to be two-way players, meaning they'll have to beat out someone on the roster. This could work in Leaky's favor. We'll wish him luck as he looks to extend his NBA adventure in the nation's capital!
