The UNC basketball program has just extended an offer to one of the most intriguing and exciting players in the Class of 2026. The in-state dual-sport athlete Kendre Harrison, from Reidsville, North Carolina, now holds offers from the UNC football and basketball programs.

At six-foot-seven and 245 pounds, Harrison is ranked as the No 5. Power forward in the nation on 247Sports and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina. What's even more impressive is that he's also the No. 1 ranked tight end in the nation in the Class of 2026.

His strength on the football field easily translates to the hardwood- just check out this viral clip of the sophomore's backboard-shattering throwdown.

Landing a commitment from Harrison would be huge for the Tar Heels. In his sophomore year, he led the Reidsville football team to a 2A state championship and followed up his championship football season by averaging 19.4 points and 15.1 rebounds on the basketball court.

The commitment would place Harrison among North Carolina legends like Julius Peppers and, most recently, Greg Little, who both played for the UNC football and basketball programs during their collegiate careers.

Harrison told Inside Carolina last month that when looking for a school to commit to, his "ending decision would be a school that [he] could play both at."

After receiving his offer from UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis while attending a football camp in Chapel Hill, that dream may come to fruition in North Carolina.

He's been offered by ACC rivals North Carolina State, Florida State, and Wake Forest, as well as other major programs like Texas A&M, Penn State, and Georgetown.

While the competition for the Reidsville native is fierce, North Carolina seems to be leading the charge. Harrison's positive sentiments towards the Tar Heels, as he told Inside Carolina, "I have good feelings toward North Carolina," should give us confidence in our recruitment efforts.
