UNC Basketball: Class of 2025 guard Acaden Lewis to visit Chapel Hill this month
Four-star Class of 2025 point guard Acaden Lewis will unofficially visit Chapel Hill on June 27th and will officially visit North Carolina on October 4th.
The six-foot-three combo guard out of Washington D.C. received an offer from head coach Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program last week after a stellar performance at the NBPA Top-100 Camp.
Lewis has spoken highly of the Tar Heels recently and seems to be seriously considering taking his talents to Chapel Hill after his senior high school season.
"They've had so many good guards. Even the head coach played in the league. It's a mecca of college basketball."
After an impressive junior season, Lewis has skyrocketed in the national rankings as the No. 34 overall prospect in the 2025 class in 247Sports' rankings. As a member of Team Durant on the EYBL Circuit this past season, Lewis averaged 15.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
North Carolina is facing steep competition with other major power five programs to secure a commitment from Lewis—a list that includes bluebloods Kentucky and Kansas, as well as ACC rivals Syracuse, Miami, and Louisville.
When choosing where to continue the next part of his journey, Lewis emphasized in an interview with On3 a few things that would be a significant factor in his decision.
"The culture of the school will be big. I want to go into a family environment where I know the coaches are invested in me."
If Lewis wants a historic culture with family values, then Chapel Hill seems the perfect place to be.
