UNC Basketball: ACC Men's Basketball rankings for the week of January 15
By Jordan Falls
Duke has rolled off eight straight consecutive victories since that early December loss on the road at Georgia Tech, and it appears the Blue Devils have it figured out. They ran Pittsburgh off their home floor last week in an impressive 75-53 victory over the Panthers and then returned home looking for redemption over the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Tech may be a team that just has Duke's number and pushes them to the limit. The Yellow Jackets led by as many as ten in the second half with 13 minutes remaining and appeared to have the Blue Devils on the ropes. Even trailing 67-63 with 8:03 remaining it appeared Duke could be in trouble.
The Blue Devils then proceeded to go on an 11-2 run over the next four minutes of game action to take a 76-69 lead and win the game 84-79.
Duke is very arguably the No. 2 team in the conference as of right now. However, that early December loss to Georgia Tech is still not a good look and will keep them at No. 3 for now with the opportunity to move up.
