UNC Basketball 2023-2024 season in review: Elliot Cadeau

What does Cadeau need to improve upon?

If you watched any North Carolina basketball this offseason, you already know where Cadeau struggled. Elliot shot only 18% from three-point range in the 2023-2024 season.

By year's end, players defending him would back all the way into the paint, daring Cadeau to take a deep jumper. As a result, Elliot was unable to use his quickness to get to the rim because of the separation he already had from his defender. To take his game to the next level, he has to become a threat from outside.

Another aspect that Elliot Cadeau needs to focus on is defending without fouling. There were several times throughout the season when Cadeau had to be sidelined for an extended amount of time because of foul trouble.

Finally, when fouls are called, Cadeau has to learn to keep his composure. This will be part of maturing as a person and an athlete, but on too many occasions, Cadeau would visibly show frustration when things weren't going his way, and that could alter his performance.
