Although only a freshman, CBS Sports named Walter the best NBA Draft prospect in the West Regional. A big reason is his relentless scoring; he turned in 24.3 points per game and tallied double figures in 24 out of 33 games. The latest mock draft had Walter going to the Toronto Raptors as the 17th overall pick. However, the Big 12 Freshman of the Year told the Baylor Lariat that he is focused on delivering the Bears their second-ever national championship. Walker's coach, Scott Drew, calls him a rare combination of a "five-star guy (with) zero-star maintenance."
