The only player in the ACC to average a double-double, and one of two in the ACC to average a double-double in conference play. Although he took a back seat to Davis in 2023-24, he still surged to third on UNC basketball's all-time scoring list behind only Tyler Hansborough and Phil Ford. According to The Washington Post, Bacot seriously considered leaving for the NBA after the Tar Heels' Cinderella run to the 2022 Final Four. Tar Heel fans are glad he stayed and became, in the words of head coach Hubert Davis, the team's "anchor."
