Davis had the greatest season for a UNC basketball guard since Ty Lawson helped lead the Tar Heels to the 2009 national championship. Lawson was also the last Tar Heel guard named ACC Player of the Year before Davis won it in 2024. Davis pulled it off with one of the biggest scoring outbursts in recent college basketball history, which propelled him to sixth on the Tar Heels' all-time scoring list. His 21.4 points per game is the 11th highest in the nation. According to CBS Sports, Davis is one of the best pure scorers in the nation.
