MUST SEE: Seth Trimble SOARS through the air in ACC Quarterfinals
By Jordan Falls
If you missed the UNC Basketball team's opening game in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, you certainly are going to want to watch this highlight reel dunk performed by Seth Trimble in the second half. And if you did see it live, you're going to want to re-watch it... because it was that great.
Midway through the second half, holding a 22-point lead over the ninth-seed Florida State Seminoles, the Tar Heels were facing some full-court pressure from the Seminoles, and Trimble made them pay, catching the inbound pass around three-quarter court and going the length of the court in less than five seconds.
Check it out for yourself...
This is likely not the last time you'll see this play as it is very possible that it will find itself on ESPN's Sportscenter Top 10 on Friday morning.
The highlight reel play isn't the first time we've seen Trimble show off his athleticism this year, but it was certainly an energizing play, even with the Tar Heels holding a 22-point lead in dominant fashion against Florida State.
Trimble finished with 12 points on 4-7 shooting while contributing five rebounds and adding 2 assists. He was one of four Tar Heels to score in double figures.
When it was all said and done, North Carolina defeated the Seminoles with a 92-67 victory to advance to the ACC Semifinal round and will face the winner of Notre Dame and Wake Forest on Friday night at 7:00 PM.
Trimble has provided a spark as the sixth man of this UNC Basketball team all season off the bench. As we enter post-season play, getting offensive production from the sophomore guard could be a huge boost to the Tar Heels for the rest of their time in Washington, D.C., in the ACC Tournament and as they prepare for the NCAA Tournament starting next week.
