Lessons Learned from the UNC football program's victory over NC Central

Red flags abound as the UNC football program grinds out a win over their only FCS opponent of the season.

Receivers need to step up

All the (justified) praise that we've heaped on Omarion Hampton is not lost on future ACC opponents. Hampton was a nightmare match-up when Drake Maye was his quarterback. Maye could slice and dice you with any throw. So far this season, none of the three quarterbacks used can really say the same.

This is exascerbated by bad drops. The Tar Heels were guilty of this all over the offense. Bryson Nesbit, John Copenhaver, and J.J. Jones all had drops. These aren't green rookies. They're upperclassmen. Leaders. They need to hold on to these balls to release pressure on the running game.

North Carolina was extremely successful stacking the box against NC Central, limiting J'Mari Taylor to just 46 rushing yards on 21 attempts. It won't be long until we see a box score like that for Hampton if North Carolina's receivers don't become more dangerous, or at least just make catches on balls near their body.
