The UNC football program arrived at week four with a 3-0 record, but nobody in Tar Heel Nation was anointing this team as an ACC contender. The wins were patchwork efforts and lacked conviction against two smaller teams. If North Carolina matched up with someone who had equal talent or better schemes, could they continue to succeed?

North Carolina suffered one of the ugliest losses in school history against James Madison. A baffling first half that featured a Bingo drinking game of errors conspired to doom the Tar Heels against a JMU team that was roaring for an upset.
