North Carolina and Alabama meet for a spot in the Elite Eight on Saturday night.

Two of the best offenses in the country that love to put points on the board face off, but it’ll be North Carolina’s size down low, headlined by Armando Bacot that will generate the edge for the Tar Heels in hopes of making it to the Regional Finals.

Alabama doesn’t have an interior presence that can slow down Bacot, which is why we are targeting his rebound prop on Thursday night, but also senior guard RJ Davis, who has the three-point prowess to outduel Crimson Tide guard Mark Sears.

Here’s two Tar Heels props I’m keying in on in the Sweet 16.

Best College Basketball Player Props for Alabama vs. North Carolina

  • Armando Bacot OVER 10.5 Rebounds
  • RJ Davis OVER 2.5 3-Pointers

Armando Bacot OVER 10.5 Rebounds

Bacot is one of the best rebounding big men in the country. Overall, North Carolina is 12th in rebounding percentage, and the senior big man is the leader of that part of the team’s game, averaging north of 10 boards per game.

I believe this is a good matchup for Bacot, mainly due to his offensive rebounding against an Alabama team that is 245th in defensive rebounding percentage. If Bacot is able to clean the glass and generate second chances as is the expectation, this game will tilt in UNC’s favor.

On the other end, the Crimson Tide are reliant on second chances, but the Tar Heels, namely Bacot do a great job in that regard, sixth in defensive rebounding rate.

In a game that should feature plenty of possessions, I’ll trust Bacot to get to his season long mark.

RJ Davis OVER 2.5 3-Pointers

All eyes will be on the two star guards in this game, Davis and Alabama point guard Mark Sears.

Two of the most dynamic scorers at the point guard position, both players can light it up from 3-point range, and I expect Davis to really cook from the perimeter against a leaky Alabama defense.

First, the Crimson Tide are below the national average in points per possession allowed on off the dribble three-point shots, per ShotQuality. a key part of Davis’ game. Overall, UNC is 29th in this metric on offense with a lot of that being the senior guards shot creation.

Further, Alabama is due a three-percent jump in 3-point percentage with Davis looming as the grim reaper of sorts on this teams season.

Davis has made seven 3-point shots through the first two games in the NCAA Tournament, helping cement his 41% mark on the year. Considering he takes north of seven per game, this is a pedestrian mark for him to clear.
