3 teams the UNC basketball program may want to avoid in the West region

The UNC basketball program claimed the final No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament on Selection Sunday. Here are three teams that could cause matchup issues for the Tar Heels.

R.J. Davis and Elliot Cadeau have been very good this season, but as good as they can be (especially offensively), this combination can be severely undersized. When these players have struggled the most, it has been against big, athletic guards.

Mississippi State may have a couple of small guards themselves, but they start a three-forward lineup and will apply defensive pressure for 40 straight minutes. They are coming off an SEC Tournament run in which they thumped Tennessee and gave Auburn a run for their money in the title game.

If the Tar Heels face the Bulldogs in the second round, turnovers and a low-scoring performance could potentially send North Carolina home earlier than expected.
