3 Predictions for UNC Football program's season opener at Minnesota
No. 3: Bryson Nesbit will be the team's leading receiver
We don't know who will be North Carolina's starting quarterback. Whoever it is, though, won't be able to zip the ball anywhere they want up the field the way Sam Howell and Drake Maye did. Also, the weather is supposed to be terrible on Thursday night in Minneapolis.
What is a quarterback's best friend when downfield passing doesn't come easily? A tight end with great hands. The UNC football program is blessed with several of those, but expect Bryson Nesbit to be the one who leads the team in catches and perhaps receiving yards.
Until either quarterback demonstrates a deft touch with their deep pass, I'll expect North Carolina's tight ends to rack up catches and yards after catch to keep the offense chugging along and create breathing room at the line of scrimmage for Omarion Hampton.
