Ignore the Elon game. It's immaterial.

Against Northwestern, Duke gave up just 132 rushing yards. Against Connecticut, they gave up a season-high 179 yards, with three running backs averaging 5 yards per carry or better. Middle Tennessee ran for 168 yards, including 125 yards on 12 carries for star running back Jaiden Credle:

If Duke defends the run like that on Saturday afternoon, No. 28 is going to burn holes through his shoes. Omarion Hampton is unlike any running back Duke has faced this season, and they haven't exactly been shutting them down.

Hampton has been the focus of defenses all season and has had some slow starts accordingly. But like waves crashing against seaside cliffs, the rocks can only withstand so much before they fall into the water.

Omarion Hampton has rushed for 555 yards in four games, averaging an insane 6.5 yards per carry. He only rushed for 77 yards against Charlotte, but if you'll recall, he left the game midway through the second quarter! He has also scored three touchdowns in each of his last two games.

With Jacolby Criswell now adding some potency to the passing attack, Duke won't be able to just stack the box without punishment. Expect Omarion Hampton to have the best day of any running back against Duke so far this season.
