3 memorable matchups between the UNC basketball program and Michigan State
The UNC basketball program is set to face off against Michigan State on Saturday. This won't be the first time these two programs have met, especially in March.

On Veterans Day in 2011, the Tar Heels took the court against the Spartans in the "Carrier Classic." It was the first game of the season, and both of these squads had high expectations.
With then-President Barack Obama in attendance, North Carolina claimed a 67-55 victory behind 17 points from Harrison Barnes. John Henson and Dexter Strickland were also in double figures. Draymond Green was the leading scorer for Tom Izzo’s crew with 13 points.
The setting for this season opener was electric. Providing veterans with entertainment on the USS Carl Vinson was an honor for both these programs, and it is a special game that will always be remembered.
