If you're still fuming over the announcement on Tuesday night, you're not the only one. We're of course talking about the news coming in that North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick was not selected as a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer. What?!

Yeah, it's totally absurd. Just what in the world are we doing here? Belichick is widely considered the GOAT NFL coach and nothing is going to change that. If you think you were mad, imagine what others were thinking. Leave it to Patrick Mahomes to say what just about everyone else had on their minds here:

Yeah, we're going to need to see who did not vote for Belichick immediately. How is it possible that he did not get the required 40 votes for this? As Adam Schefter pointed out, the man has eight Super Bowl rings to his name, including six with the New England Patriots. This is absurd, which LeBron James fully knows as well.

You can bring up 'deflategate' and 'spygate' all you want, but it just seems like Patriots and Belichick haters are the ones responsible for BB not being a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Does this mean that Tom Brady is going to get snubbed too when he's eligible? Give us a break.

There are plenty more social media posts like the ones above of people being in complete and total shock. Hey, it's easy to see why. Say what you want about Belichick, but no one can ever question the impact he's had on the sport.
Now that he's with North Carolina and his first season with the Tar Heels didn't go to plan, people are racing to get their shots in on him. Need him to lift up his hands and showcase all of his Super Bowl rings to silence those same people? He's a Hall of Famer and the fact that we're even having this conversation is a shame. Belichick is a legend of the game, period.
