Omarion Hampton has rushed for 1,000 yards for the second consecutive season.

Hampton--who is at least a man-and-a-half by any standard--administered punishment to Virginia's defense from the beginning of the game at UVA until the fourth quarter when Mack Brown showed mercy and subbed in Davion Gause. Hampton ran 26 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns, taking his season total to 1,006.

Last season, the Tar Heel running back ran for 1,504 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.

Collisions are a given when Hampton gets to the second level. He had Virginia defenders making business decisions, and when squared up with a brave soul, crushed them. Linebacker Kam Robinson was the unfortunate recipient of Omarion Hampton's smoke, and left the game with an apparent upper body injury.

Look for the Omarion Hampton steam train to keep rolling next week against Florida State. The Seminoles are currently the No. 102-ranked rush defense in FBS, giving up 172 rushing yards per game.

It's safe to say they aren't looking forward to seeing Omarion Hampton next weekend.
